We founded The People Place to provide a space for Los Angeles parents - to take classes and join groups (with and without the little ones) that provide community, connection, education, and empathy. Being a parent is hard work, but it’s so much easier when you have your people.

Our signature class! This nonjudgemental parenting group for babies 0 to 9 months offers support, education, and a place to share your experiences.

Once your baby is on the move, from 9 to 18 months, come engage in playful songs, forge connections with fellow parents, and discuss topics like how to support your little mover build social skills in this new stage!

This active class gives toddlers a chance to play and socialize with a teacher, while parents have an engaging discussion in a separate space.

We offer multiple classes for our expecting parents! Our prenatal education classes are taught by a registered nurse who guides you through labor, postpartum, newborn care and sleep.

Dads need parenting support too! Our dads groups are taught by male educators who facilitate honest conversations & share indispensable tools to make parenting easier & more fun.

How to Register for Our Classes Using Sawyer
Once you find the right class, create your profile through Sawyer, our class booking system. It’s easy, we promise! New members get a free trial class (infant & movers classes only).
Depending on the class format, you’ll sign up for either a monthly membership or for a limited series class pack.

Benefits of Membership
Community! Meet parents that are going through what you are for connection and support, both in our classes and at our informal group playdates. Our co-founders met in a Moms Group class over 10 years ago.
Education. In every class, we offer our group leaders’ expertise to answer all your burning questions. We also bring in expert speakers to lead workshops on a variety of topics, from sleep specialists to CPR instructors.
In-person & online support. In addition to our weekly classes, all our members will have access to our WhatsApp groups so they can get real-time answers and support from parents who are in the same boat.

We pick and and choose best practices across multiple parenting philosophies. We do focus primarily on conscientious parenting. This means we encourage parents to be thoughtful about their words and actions, really validating their children’s experiences. We explore the idea that our job as parents is to be a witness to our child’s feelings and inner experience as opposed to teachers and problem solvers.

If you are enrolled in our Infant or Movers class, you are allowed to attend a different session as a make-up class within 1-2 weeks of your absence. To confirm your change, please email info@thepeopleplacela.com with which class you’d like to attend instead. Unfortunately, there are no make-up classes for our toddler playgroup or Dads groups.

They sure are! We love second, third and fourth time moms! We also offer classes for toddler parents. You can view our full schedule here.

At our infant groups, we observe our babies as they are, while finding connection with each other. We sit together around our cozy carpet with the babies laying on their blankets - parents are welcome to feed, change soothe or do whatever else is needed during your time with us. We always check in with everyone to see what’s been going on for them, their baby and family that week. At the end of class we present a conversation topic to the group to discuss. The topics focus on parent and baby, health/wellness, and also explore our parenting philosophy.

We require that all adult members be fully vaccinated from Covid and that the babies follow a regular vaccination schedule as prescribed by their pediatrician. Please contact us with any questions about this policy.

There is metered parking on Washington Blvd. in front of our building, as well as free parking on the side streets south of Washington.

We allow members to pause their membership 2 times/year for at least 2 weeks and up to the rest of the calendar year. Note that if you pause your membership, you risk losing your spot in your class, but we will do everything we can to accommodate your return.
